In many European countries, acupuncture is among the most used Complementary and Alter-native Medicine (CAM) therapies for a wide range of disorders within both public and privatehealth facilities. In Italy, it is included within the so-called national Essential Levels of Care (LivelliEssenziali di Assistenza LEAs) only for anaesthesiologic purposes, and within the LEAs of someRegions only for selected clinical conditions.
The Symposium is organized in the framework of the Joint Sino-Italian Laboratory on TraditionalChinese Medicine (JoSIL), hosted in Italy by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS), and of theEU Project China and Europe Taking Care of Healthcare Solutions CHETCH, of which AMAB ispartner.
